2 More Spaceships Have Landed!
In my previous film, Invasion Planet Earth, all of the spaceships in it were created using CGI. This was mainly for budgetary reasons and because of the huge quantity of FX shots in that film, it just made more sense to do it that way. However, as hard as we tried, I felt they always looked very computer generated.
As a long-time fan of Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica and Thunderbirds, I wanted to make this new film a little differently to Invasion and where possible, use real models - ideally, with the benefit of combining the real models with the latest CGI technology.
Just before Christmas, Model Maker Richard Dixon, delivered the latest two ships. The Oppressor and The Medusa..
The Oppressor - a deadly alien Star Fortress, which houses Torg and her hologram army.
The Medusa - a battered asteroid mining ship.
We've now had two of our initial ships, The Victorious and The Montana scanned into 3d which enables us to get a lot of the ambitious shots we need using Unreal Engine. Here we were able to add lights, smoke and a little more detail.
Thanks for all the support. Remember, if you would like to join us, please buy a mug, t-shirt or anything from our shop and we'll keep you in the loop with our progress.
Cheers and all the best,
