Of Infinite Worlds - Finally In Post

Back in January we completed a cut of the movie!

This took a  good, 4 months of fierce editing and I can confirm, its going to be great little movie. It still needs a LOT of work, and we have some bits to re-shoot and some crowd scenes to shoot - but it is all working well. It's emotional, powerful and very exciting and I can't wait for you to see it.

Since then, we have been working on the mountain of FX work that needs doing. A lot of the scenes we shot have greenscreen elements which need to be replaced, and this is a laborious process which involves building the sections to go into the greenscreen and then adding them to each shot. We have lots of set extensions to create and loads of CG computer scenes and lights to be added.

Below is an example of some scenes we have now completed....

The scene below is set in our spaceship control room. The set looked good but because we were filming in a small industrial unit, we were limited by the size of the actual space. Therefore, a lot of work has been done to make the set look much bigger.

There are a LOT of FX shots in the film and I have been very methodical in working through them, one location at a time. Being as we shot on a lot of film sets with vac form panels, we have been carefully adding little lights and animated graphics to the backdrops - it’s been a bit of a slog, but I have to say, it really is bringing each scene to life!

The images below are from a vast set which over-looks a futuristic indoor power plant. It took a while to get this to work, but I am really pleased with it now.

After months of beavering away we are slowly replacing the greenscreen elements. On Saturday, I was able to watch a 15 minute section of the film which has all of its effects now done – and it was an amazing feeling - This thing has been in my head for over 5 years now, so it was great to see the near final result!

My plan is to keep working away, get all the effects completed, and then fine cut the film. I’m hoping this will be completed by around September (2025) at which point we will get on with the music, sound mix and picture grade.

So hang on in there – this is really shaping up to be a great indie sci-fi movie.

As part of our journey to continue building our audience for the film, I have set up a TikTok account and have been posting regularly. It’s a bit different to Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, but seems to be a great way to build and engage a large audience. I'm still finding my feet on this, and doing my best to make my posts interesting and engaging (quite tricky for a bloke in his late 50's!), but I have a really good feeling about TikTok as, if you put the work in, you can reach millions.

If you are on TikTok, or fancy joining the mayhem, please do follow me. My TikTok addess is: https://www.tiktok.com/@simoncoxmoviemaker?

If you would like to support my ongoing indie venture, please do check out our SHOP here on this website, we have DVD’s, mug and posters etc and all the money we make will help to keep the ship afloat.

Many thanks.

Simon.
