On the 15th July, we finally started building our sci-fi movie set, in the space I’ve hired for 3 months.
The room has two floors; the top floor is housing a futuristic science lab, and the ground floor set is a variety of spaceship interiors. We have built these using the flats we created for our first spaceship set back in 2022 and I have also had a lot of 8’X4' vac-form panels created. As the money to build all this is very tight, I have enlisted an army of family and friends to help put it up and paint it - and they have been amazing!
We have also covered the walls of the room in 20”X10” greenscreen drapes which will eventually appear as vast backgrounds of gantries, generators and alien worlds to compliment our sets.
The casting is also now complete, and from the 30th July, we have been embarking on around 2 weeks of filming. I will introduce you to the cast very soon – and you’re going to love them!
I am so chuffed to finally be in a position to do this and it really is thanks to the kind support of so many people – so if you helped, thank you. Being totally honest, setting this up has been really expensive and I know that once we have paid the cast and crew for this block of filming, we will have run out of money again.
So, the current dilemma is how to find the final funds to get the movie finished (in the time we have the studio for). I’m cutting this very close to the bone and not sure how to do it yet, but I know in my heart of hearts that the money will come. We’ve got this far, and I have a lot of faith things will fall into place.
Wish me luck!
